What is an Accu-Staltictm Pump?
Accu-Staltic are Peristaltic style pumps. Similar to squeeze pumps, peristaltic pumps have been widely used for decade in low-pressure applications where high degrees of precision and repeat accuracy are essential. The pumps operates by squeezing shut a flexible tube between a roller and fixed surface, then pushing the fluid through the tube, very similar to the way you swallow. As the roller passes, the hose rebounds, drawing in fluid from the intake manifold. The next roller squeezes the hose shut, and the process repeats. Peristaltic pumps require no valving, and the fluid is retained in the hose, never directly wetting the pump.
Peristaltic pumps can meter a variety of difficult applications like oils, suspensions, concentrates, and emulsions. Fluid characteristics have little effect on the precision or accuracy of the device, although a pump used for a wide variety of fluids with dissimilar characteristics may need recalibration for each fluid. Pumps can be fit with special hoses to handle solvents, acids, corrosives, and even foodstuffs. |
